The weather in Portland has been awesome this past week so Henry and mom have ventured out for many walks around town.  Henry loves to have the sun on his face and the wind to his back.  Henry has discovered his hands and they are constantly on the move.  Check out some pictures of his crazy poses here>>   He is becoming more and more aware of his surroundings every day.  This month will be a fun Month for henry because his uncle Ryan and Uncle Rob are coming for a visit.  He can't wait to meet his crazy uncles!

This month we took henry for many visits to his pediatrician.  The doctor said that Henry looks great because he and is gaining weight like crazy (wouldn't we love if the doctor said that to us!!).  Henry has continued to gain about an ounce a day this month.  Last time we had him weighed he was 6 lbs 5 oz.  He is sleeping really well - just not always at night time.   He also had his 1st visit from his grandma salo earlier this month.  He had a ball snuggling with grandma and giving her lots of kisses.  You can see pictures from that visit here>>

We got an early Christmas present this year. Henry Ryan Salo was born today at 8:45pm.  He weighed 3 pounds 12 ounces, was 17 inches long, and came almost 6 weeks early.  we were greatly blessed that mom and baby were well taken care of.  Last night was quite a whirlwind of emotion.

Henry will be in the ICU for awhile until his breathing stabilizes, but he is rapidly improving.  Sarah is starting to feel better too. She’s going to spend tomorrow resting and they think she will be stable enough to go up and spend some time with the baby tomorrow evening.

We had to transfer hospitals in the middle of everything, so we are up at Oregon Health Sciences University now.  Sarah is in the main hospital and Henry will be staying at the Doernbecher Neonatal Care Center one floor below us.
